First week on pest-control software: import, diary, first invoice

A same-week setup: services, customers, tomorrow’s jobs, a driver login, and one invoice sent.

Do not implement. Run one week.

Software projects die in setup. Pest companies do not have a spare month. The test is whether tomorrow’s jobs can live in the new system while this week still pays. That is a few hours, not a conference room.

Spestly’s trial is seven days with a card. Cancel in Settings → Plan before it ends if you are not staying. Desk is one login. Route is the van. Fleet is for the extra report and seats. If you have drivers, pick Route.

Day one: company and services

Finish the workspace: country United States, timezone, business name. Add the services you actually sell this month — not a catalog of 40. A name and a typical price is enough. You can add the rest later.

Day one or two: customers

Import a CSV if you have one. How to shape that file is the short version. If you have twenty accounts, type them. Open two records and fix addresses so Maps is not guessing.

Day two: the diary

Book tomorrow. Assign a technician or leave it for yourself. If you use the van, create the driver login and ask them to open Today on the phone. Add the page to the home screen. Do a real stop, not a fake “test customer” on a street you never service.

Day three: complete and invoice

Photos, signature if you use them, complete the job. Open the invoice. Send it. Check the email log. Mark a cash payment if that is how they paid. That loop is the product. Everything else is settings.

Put a frequency on one regular so the next visit comes back. That is the difference from a spreadsheet. See scheduling and invoicing.

What can wait

Stripe Connect for card links. Booking page colors. Bait-station maps. Tax exports. The public booking link can wait until the diary is trusted. Do not hide from customers behind a perfect embed.

If you get stuck

help@spestly.com. We sit with early companies on import and the first week. We are small. That is the point. If you need a dedicated CSM and a 90-day rollout, you want a larger stack — and you should budget for it.
