FieldRoutes alternative for small pest companies
When FieldRoutes is more stack than you need — and what a smaller pest-only tool covers instead.
FieldRoutes is a real product
FieldRoutes (WorkWave) is built for pest and lawn companies that want a full operational stack: routing, billing, and the process that comes with a larger book. If you already run it, and the office knows it, switching for sport is a bad idea. Implementations cost time. Your techs already have habits.
This page is for the small company that was pointed at FieldRoutes — or a FieldRoutes-shaped demo — and felt they were buying a department, not a diary. You wanted Tuesday’s list and an invoice. You got a rollout.
When FieldRoutes is the right fit
You have many routes, managers who need reports, and budget for setup. You want the brand your peers already know. You are fine training people on a wide system. Stay.
When a smaller tool is the better alternative
You have one office and a few vans. You do not have an ops person. You need customers, recurring jobs, a phone view, and invoices this week. You want a published monthly price and a trial you can cancel without a call.
Spestly is pest-only software in that smaller shape. Desk $49, Route $99, Fleet $179. Seven days with a card. We do not match FieldRoutes feature-for-feature. We do not have their history. Routes are an ordered day that opens Google Maps — not a traffic engine. That is written on our pricing and FAQ on purpose.
What you give up if you go small
Deep franchise reporting. A long partner ecosystem. The comfort of “everyone uses this.” If a buyer or a franchisor requires FieldRoutes, this article is not for you.
What you keep
A week you can understand. CSV import. A van view that is not a desktop. Invoices from the job. Email support from humans while we are early. First week is how we expect you to test us — not a slide deck.
Public FieldRoutes pricing and packages change. Check their site for current numbers. We will not guess their quote. Compare the week you have to run, not a logo.
A practical switch test
If you do try a smaller tool, do not run a dual system for six months. Pick twenty accounts. Import them. Book one week. Invoice. If that week is quieter than FieldRoutes admin, expand. If it is worse, you learned it in seven days instead of a quarter. That is the only honest alternative pitch.
